George Best was the national football (soccer) hero for Northern Ireland. He was well known as a player on clubs all over the world, including on the San Jose Earthquakes and Manchester United and is widely considered in the top 100 or so players of all time. GQ also named him in the top 50 most stylish people of the past 50 years! The mural above was found in Sandy Row (a unionist neighborhood). Unfortunately, Mr. Best died at the age of 50 following ongoing troubles with alcoholism.The (George Best) Belfast City Airport has been renamed in his honor.
