I've attached photos of our visit to Blists Hill below. This UNESCO world heritage site is a composition of Victorian buildings that have been reassembled brick-by-brick into a faux town surrounding the ironworks and brick making facilities that existed on the site. The town operates on a daily basis for visitors as if it were the year 1900. Candlemakers, print shops, and blacksmiths give presentations of their work and school houses of the period are open for tours.

Ambassadorial Scholar Link Weekend
I spent this past weekend in the West Midlands of England meeting other students from all over the world who are studying in the UK on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. Out of the 400+ scholarships that were given out this year, nearly 100 of the students selected were placed with a Rotary District in the United Kingdom. Approximately 80 of us met in Stafford, England and were treated to meals, interesting speakers, a barn dance, and a tour of the reconstructed Victorian town of Blists Hill. It was an incredible opportunity to meet students studying at top universities from so many different places (Japan, Australia, Italy, France, Jamaica, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Germany, Malta, and Greece are just a few of the nationalities that I can quickly recall). The Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship is the largest privately-funded scholarship program in the world.
